In October 2016, during Paris Fashion Week, Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in her luxury apartment and robbed of jewelry valued at around $10 million, including her $4 million diamond engagement ring from then-husband Kanye West. The robbers, disguised as police officers, tied her up and locked her in a bathroom before fleeing on bicycles.

Nearly nine years later, ten suspects-mostly older men dubbed the “Grandpa Robbers” by French media-are now on trial in Paris. Kardashian is scheduled to testify in court, recounting the traumatic experience that left her shaken and changed how celebrities view privacy and social media exposure.

The case highlights how Kardashian’s public sharing of her location and jewelry on social media may have made her a target. Despite some recovered items, most of the stolen jewels remain missing.
